What are the principles upon which America was founded?  What are the founding principles of the United States? Obviously we know that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are the bedrock of our nation. It is these documents that give the moral compass and the rule of law that has allowed America to become, as Reagan emphasized, the City on a Hill to the world.
